Atty. Darlene Berberabe oversees the country’s largest home loan provider. The Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), more popularly known as the Pag-IBIG Fund, was established to provide a national savings program and affordable shelter financing for the Filipino worker. The Fund offers its members short-term loans and access to housing programs. It is mandatory for all SSS- and GSIS-covered employees; uniformed members of the AFP, BFP, BJMP and PNP; as well as Filipinos employed by foreign-based employers. Considered one of the most successful public sector leaders in the nation, some of the many awards presented to this remarkable woman include: Asia CEO of the Year Award for Public Sector Leadership, Asia CEO Awards 2013 The Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service (TOWNS) Award for Government Service, 2013 Outstanding CEO of the Year in the Asia and the Pacific given by the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP), 2012 Communication Excellence in Organizations (CEO) Excel Awardee given by International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines, 2012
